"My mother, a four year resident of Ginger Cove, was in need of a part time caregiver two years ago. Heather Sweet of Baxter Home Health was highly recommended by one of the physical therapists at Ginger Cove. My mother and I interviewed Ms. Sweet and were impressed with her demeanor, her medical knowledge, and the confidence she displayed.  To make things even better we realized that I had a long business relationship with a member of her immediate family.  I can say this about Heather Sweet with all sincerity. She is a wonderfully caring person. My mother truly cares for her and depends on her. Heather has been dependable and has even attended doctor appointments with my mother taking notes and getting needed prescriptions.

Heather's services have brought me such piece of mind knowing that she will be there three days per week tending to her needs and providing companionship. I would certainly recommend Heather Sweet and her company Baxter Home Health."

Sincerely,
Donna Walsh

"My name is Carrie Ferran, the granddaughter of Syd and Marilyn. I am writing this letter of recommendation as a family member who has been most involved with my grandparents care and my long term relationship with Heather Sweet, owner of Baxter Home Health, LLC.

Eight years ago at 89 years old Syd had a stroke and lost his ability to walk. At that time my grandmother also 89, a petite woman with a big heart and determination to keep her husband at home, hired Heather Sweet part-time to help her with Syd’s care. It was important to stay together and maintain as much of their happy marriage and independence as possible. Currently, my grandparents are 97 and Marilyn has severe dementia. As her condition progressed two years ago our family realized she and Syd required 24/7 care. Heather and my grandparents had developed a caring and trusting relationship and in order for them to have quality of life and continue to live as a married couple at home she started Baxter Home Health. She hired a staff that would be the same familiar faces and care providers to ease and build confident trusting care for my loved ones. Although, I live in Virginia and cannot visit as often as I wish, I developed a routine to help my grandparents and oversee their needs so they can live as independently as possible, for as long as they live.

Heather and her staff has not only enabled Marilyn and Syd to have constant care that never quits, they have enabled our family to rest assure our loved ones are in reliable, capable, compassionate and care hands. The entire staff is well educated and provides complete personal care, manages medication, physician visits, food preparation and meal time patient monitoring, shopping once a week, light household and laundry care and constant companionship.

Our entire family is very thankful to Heather and her staff and therefore, I recommend without reservation Baxter Home Health, LLC and am happy to answer any questions or provide additional information."

Sincerely,
Carrie Ferran

"It is my privilege to recommend Heather Sweet to you as a caregiver for your loved one(s). Heather took wonderful care of my elderly parents allowing them to stay in their townhouse for years longer than they would have been able to stay otherwise. That made them very happy and was a blessing to our entire family.

Heather is an extremely compassionate and reliable caregiver. She would go the extra mile to provide care and concern. For example, in addition to all her daily assistance, she would even stay by their side in the event my parents had an emergency trip to the hospital until my arrival. She would drop many things to get to my parents when they were in need and I was out of town. My family and I got to know her and even on occasion invited her over to celebrate my parents birthdays, and Holidays. She was like family to us. I know Heather came to truly love both my mom and dad. We were very fortunate to have her care for my parents.

Initially, because my dad broke his hip and could no longer drive, we hired Heather to drive them to appointments, grocery store, their dinners, (they still liked to get out as many evenings as they could) and make sure they took their medications. As the years went on they both began suffering from dementia and my mother was partially disabled from the effects of a stroke. They did not want to leave their home to move into an assisted living facility, and they began needing more than 3-4 hours per day of care. Heather began taking on more responsibility, assisting my mother with many personal hygiene needs and making their breakfast, lunch and dinners (when they couldn’t go out) on a daily basis. They were still able to stay alone in the evening until the last 2-3 years when they began falling down and had too many trips to the ER. As mom’s condition got worse, she needed much more care and dad was getting impatient. Heather was the only one to be able to handle my dad’s mood swings and sometimes belligerent behavior as the dementia became more advanced.

Not too long ago my mother passed, and my father could not be alone. He slowly began needing 24 hour care or at least someone “watching over him”. He was and is still physically able to walk, dress and perform daily hygiene care. When the time came to find someone 24/7, Heather was not available. Heather, hands down would have been our first choice. Now my dad is settled in an assisted living group home that he has become accustomed and is enjoying.

I understand that Heather has applied for a job as a fulltime caregiver for your family. All I can say is, consider yourself very lucky. I hope she brings as much comfort and joy to your loved one(s) as she brought to ours.

I am confident that you will be as happy with her as we were. Please feel free to contact me should you want to discuss anything further. I can be reached by cell phone at 410-271-3004 or via email missyselick@comcast.net."
